BOUND TREE MEDICAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER DESTROYED BY TORNADO

Nobody injured and only limited service interruption expected

Dublin, OH – February 6, 2008 –  The Southaven, Mississippi distribution center for Bound Tree Medical, a specialty emergency medical products and pharmaceutical distributor, was destroyed on Tuesday, February 5 by a tornado that touched down in an industrial park just south of Memphis, Tennessee.  Thanks to quick actions taken by the facility’s Shipping Manager, all employees were safely away from the building when the tornado struck.  While the facility appears to be a total loss, the company is very thankful to report that all employees and their families are safe.

“Serving the emergency medical community has helped us to be prepared to manage unforeseen and difficult situations,” said Linden Joseph, President of Bound Tree Medical.  “Our infrastructure including five additional distribution centers and our national team of sales and service professionals will enable us continue to provide prompt shipments and hands on service,” he added.   Bound Tree Medical uniquely positioned to easily overcome a disaster such as this due to their national presence and regional distribution centers.  

Orders have been reallocated and the company is quickly adding inventory to the remaining warehouses.  “Our goal is to minimize service interruptions to our customers,” said Karyl Brown, VP of Operations for Bound Tree Medical.  ”We are also working to restore operations in new Southaven area facility as quickly as possible.  Southaven is a UPS and Federal Express hub and is strategically located for quick delivery to our customers.”

Bound Tree offers thousands of products produced by hundreds of manufacturers.  Many of these manufacturing partners have offered to help by allocating additional inventory, rerouting shipments and drop-shipping product if needed.  As a result, the impact of this devastating tornado will likely have only limited impact on the company and its customers.
