BOUND TREE MEDICAL AWARDS 89 EMS EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS Released: Friday, July 29, 2005
Dublin, OH – July 29, 2005. Since July 2004, Bound Tree Medical has awarded 89 scholarships nationwide for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic education programs. In its first year of existence, the Bound Tree Medical Legacy Scholarship Program has provided nearly $60,000 to children of EMTs, Paramedics and Firefighters in order to ease the financial burden associated with these programs.
Through the Legacy Scholarship Program, Bound Tree Medical is able to give back to those in the emergency medical services field who give so much to their communities. The program provides unparalleled financial support to assist in the development of the industry’s future leaders. Bound Tree Medical Legacy Scholarship recipient and paramedic student, Stacey Ardvison stated, “I cannot thank your organization enough for selecting me. The scholarship that I was awarded is going to go a long way in helping me reach my goal of becoming a paramedic. When I first read about the Legacy Scholarship in an EMS Magazine I wasn't going to apply for it. I didn't think I would have a chance of being selected. But I decided to apply anyway. When I received the notification that I was selected I was ecstatic. I have been dreaming about becoming a paramedic since I was 12 years old.”
“We are pleased that Bound Tree Medical is able to provide financial assistance to individuals that are focused on starting or furthering their education in the EMS field. The recipients of these scholarships have proven to us that they are dedicated to the profession and eager to help their communities,” said Linden Joseph, President of Bound Tree Medical.
According to Patrick Heathcoate, EMT-I student and Bound Tree Legacy Scholarship recipient, “Bound Tree has given me the funds to pursue advancement in an EMT-I class that I thought was out of reach.”
Children of EMTs, Paramedics and Firefighters interested in becoming EMTs, or furthering their certification by becoming Paramedics, are eligible to apply. Individuals who intend to pursue, or who are currently pursuing a state approved certification program, and fit the eligibility criteria should visit www.boundtree.com for more information.
