Thirty-two students awarded scholarships from the Bound Tree Medical Legacy Scholarship Program
Dublin, OH – February 4, 2005 – In January 2005, Bound Tree Medical funded 32 scholarships nationwide for EMT and Paramedic programs during its first round of the Legacy Scholarship Awards. The scholarship awards help to ease the financial burden associated with the EMT and Paramedic education process.
Bound Tree Medical is dedicated to assisting children of career or volunteer Firefighters, EMTs or Paramedics in pursuing a career in EMS, and the Legacy Scholarship Program is designed to help achieve that goal. “Bound Tree has given me the funds to pursue advancement in an EMT-I class, that I thought was out of reach,” according to Patrick Heathcoate, EMT-I student and Bound Tree Legacy Scholarship Award recipient.
The Legacy Scholarship Award, newly minted at Bound Tree Medical, is aimed at promoting the professional status of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Children of EMTs and Firefighters interested in becoming EMTs, or furthering their certification by becoming Paramedics, are eligible to apply. “I am looking forward to helping people in need by getting the knowledge and skills of an everyday EMT. By Bound Tree helping me accomplish my goal in receiving this award, I will prove to you and myself that I am fully capable of taking on this program. Thank you for bringing me one step closer,” said Kelly Starkey, EMT-B student and Bound Tree Legacy recipient.
